Should the Religion and Spirituality section on Y!Answers be sub-categorized between all the major religions?

by I Am The Steve

Question by crkadct: Should the Religion and Spirituality section on Y!Answers be sub-categorized between all the major religions?
It doesn’t seem like we can really mesh together. After all, the “Travelling” section has a subcategory for every major tourist country. It would make sense for Religion and Spirituality to have subcategories right?

Or would it not be as fun?

Where does knowledge come from?

Question by Ian: Where does knowledge come from?
Say I traveled “X” years into the future, picked out a newly published physics book and copied down a brand new equation, then traveled back to my original time and showed it to an author who then publishes the equation. This published piece inevitably turns out to be the physics book i read in the future….SO…..Where does the knowledge come from?

Just have fun with it, it’s more of a paradox…

Q&A: Who thinks these are cool ideas for the next Fallout game?

by ActiveSteve

Question by : Who thinks these are cool ideas for the next Fallout game?
ok. since i havn’t really heard anything about the new Fallout game other than its name, (Fallout New Vegas) i have some ideas that i think would be cool and could make it a REALLY good game. and make it even more unique.tell me what u think.

im gonna post my favorite ideas first. so that if u get bored of reading them halfway through u will have already read the best ideas.

1:BETTER SHOOTING! thats the 1st thing they need to fix. i like Fallout 3. its fun to roam and collect stuff. but the shooting isn’t all that great.

2:have an online thing. like have it so u can log in and u can just free roam all of the Fallout world with others. so if ur walking around out in the wilderness u see other players doing stuff. like fighting, doing missions, etc. and have it so u can trade with them. or u can just talk. hang out. go fight together. and on some worlds have it so u can fight each other.

3:if they did have online playing this owuld work. otherwise theres no point really. have it so u can make your own missions. like u choose from differnt types. like collecting stuff, killing something, etc. it might take a while to make a decent mission, but it would be worth it. and once ur done u can post it online. then whenever someone does ur mission u get something out of it. like caps or something.

4:(again.for online play) have homes. not like ur home on Fallout 3 in Megatown. cause it would be too hard to have everybody with their own home. have it like u can “travel” (teleport) home. and then it goes to ur own home. cause if everybodys home was online for everyone to see there would be thousands of homes. and what if ur home was in the back? it would take forever to walk to it

those are my main ideas. if u like them tell me. and tell me any of your own ideas. if u wanna hear more of my ideas tell me.

B&A, I’m ever so bored…. so it’s time for a poll!?

Question by Michelle: B&A, I’m ever so bored…. so it’s time for a poll!?
Working on the most mind-numbing project, and I need a distraction. Let the games begin!

1. Have you ever written anything you wanted to publish one day? What genre? How far did you get?

2. How do you write a story? Do you plan it all out ahead of time? Write as you go? Does your technique work for you?

3. How disciplined a writer are you? Do you write a little bit each day? Write in fits and spurts? Write a bunch and then forget about it for weeks or months or years?

4. What book do you wish you had written? Not for the wealth or the fame, but just because you wish you had written something as good as that?

5. What book do you wish you had written for the wealth and the fame? 🙂

6. What author has inspired you the most? In your writing? In your life?

7. What’s your favorite ‘power’ a character can have? Can be anything, not necessarily super human – e.g. ‘invisibility,’ ‘being super strong,’ ‘being a genius,’ ‘wisdom,’ etc.

8. What’s the coolest weapon? Light sabers, magic wands, hands (kung fu, etc.), lightning (Zeus), swords, the pen (is mightier than the sword), something else?

9. Coolest place you’ve ever traveled to?

10. Place you most want to travel to?

11. What do you / did you want to be when you grow/grew up?

12. If you had $ 10 million in your bank account right now and you didn’t *have* to work, what would you do with the rest of your life? And don’t say, “nothing” or “travel” – because eventually that would grow old; most people feel the need to “do” something, contribute to the world in some way….

Star if you’d like to see your contacts’ answers, too! Have fun!

xoxo

Lyra! 😡

You should furnish your palatial walls with your own art! I know you’re an artist – and you would have lots of time to paint and draw! 🙂

This may be my favorite sentence of all time:

“I wanted to be a Flight Attendant. I … spent a lot of time serving my brothers drinks and telling them where the emergency exits were.”

Kashtastic – I laughed so hard! 🙂

Great answers everyone! Someone asked for mine, so here they are:

1. Three manuscripts that I hope to publish; I have difficulty finishing things!

2. I’m a planner; I don’t just create people and plots, I create universes. *sigh*

3. Long trends of fits and spurts. Months on, months off kind of thing.

4. I wish I had written Pullman’s His Dark Materials series. The Daemon is the coolest concept in fantasy literature in 50 years!

5. Yes, I would love Jo Rowling’s wealth, but *not* her fame. I would be happy with Pullman’s fortune of a few million and relative anonymity.

6. Too many to name…

7. Genius and wisdom. Dumbledoresque quality. Coined a new word there, me thinks…

8. Power from within is the greatest weapon…

9. Nepal, Kenya, Venice

10. Brazil, Greece, everywhere else…

11. Writer writer writer!

12. This is ambitious and needs more than $ 10M, but a floating school: a ship that takes students around the world and expands their minds and global horizons.

What group activities for seniors have you found beneficial?

Question by Ya Ya Vegas: What group activities for seniors have you found beneficial?
These are some that I found and we are trying the “DVD night ” with foods from the region. We have lots of old vacation slide shows so will do that. Any other suggestions that you have tried or would like to?

# A home or community garden can be set up in any sized area, even in containers.
# A book discussion club is stimulating and accessible to most people. Books are available on tape and in large print as well.
# Volunteer work for those in need can include making blankets, packing school supplies for children, and more. For ideas, search charities online or ask around at local churches and community organizations. There is always a need for help.
# Recreational group exercise classes make movement more fun and tolerable. Aqua-aerobics (available at most YMCAs and community pools) are especially senior-friendly.
# Movie night with popcorn and perhaps a ‘theme’ party could be great fun. Revisit old favorites or enjoy newer films at home or in a theater.
# DVD travel “tours,” complete with potluck food from the region is a real treat.
# A choral group can stay in-house or travel to share joy with others.

What are some random things you have done (or want to do) before you die?

Question by daisyk: What are some random things you have done (or want to do) before you die?
I’ve heard a quote that said something along the lines of: “We are not earthly beings having spiritual experiences, rather we are spiritual beings having earthly experiences.”

It makes me want to experience as much as I can. I’ve seen a lot of good questions going over the really important things in life, so I want to have a little more fun and see some lists of things that you can do for no other reason than “because you can.”

Try to be specific, if your going to say “learn” give me a subject…if you’re going to say “travel” give me a place and what to do there.

A few I’ve thought of:

Learn underwater basket weaving
Go to a tupperware party
Go bowling in Canada
Have blue hair for a day

well you get the idea – have fun.
Fruit_snack – I’m not much of a country fan, but I do really like that song.

Captin_trips – not likely, I’m married, and we’re some of those wierdos that actually believe in keeping our vows.
