Question about impounded animal?

by K. Todd Storch

Question by Sammy Gabbie LOVE raw meat!: Question about impounded animal?
Ok, my husband and I went to NC and Ohio a few weeks ago. We spent the night in Illinois, at a Motel 6, on the way back on Oct. 31st. Please read the entire thing, or don’t bother answering. Calling me names and all that is totally inappropriate and will be reported and only proves you to be stupid and ignorant.

Today we got a letter in the mail saying this from the Winnebago County Animal Services in Rockford, Ill. That’s where we stayed.

“An animal identified as yours was impounded at Winnebago County Animal services on 11/01/09. Under Illinois State Statutes your animal will be held for a stray period of four (4) business days during which time you may reclaim your animal.”

Then they give the hours to come in and reclaim it.

“You have until the close of business on 11/07/09 to reclaim your animal or to sign an ownership release. Please provide proof of current rabies vaccination and and registration, as well as proof of ownership at the time you reclaim your animal. If you fail to reclaim your animal or you sign an ownership release by the above date3, your animal will become the property of Winnebago County Animal Services to be disposed of as we deem necessary, to include either adoption or euthanasia.”

Ok, here’s the deal. Whatever animal they got isn’t ours. I called them and left a message saying that. Our two dogs traveled with us, and we still have them. Is there anything else I can do? And will this screw us up in adopting from shelters in the future? We are into adopting from rescues.

My biggest question is..how in the world could this have happened?
I guess I’ll have to go to my vet tomorrow and have them fax proof to Illinois that this wasn’t my animal. Yes, both of my dogs are licensed in my state. Actually they are city licenses.
Oops! I meant we stayed at a Motel 6 in Rockford, Ill. Not at the Winnebago County Animal Services..oops.
Yes, sometimes having an animal taken in by a pound/shelter will screw one up in being able to adopt in the future.
To clarify..I CANNOT go to the pound there. It’s in Illinois, and we live in North Dakota. It’s not like it’s a 20 minute drive. We’re talking a few states away.
The animal was turned in in Illinois. We live in ND. Only stayed in Illinois one night on the way back.
Yes, I’m sure it’s real. Has the state seal, gives the address and phone number.
Yes, I’m sure it’s real. Has the state seal, gives the address and phone number.
The only thing I can think of is Motel 6 might have turned the animal in, thinking it was ours.
Khayos, just what are you talking about?
You must have meant your rant for someone else.
But as for emails, I don’t think you can report them. Just block whoever is sending them to you.
Ok, I think I remember you. What I sent wasn’t hate mail. It was information. And yes, I got the right person. But I don’t allow for anyone to email me generally, because I’ve been called so many names, this, that, and the other thing. I even say that on my profile.
You said that every living creature wants to reproduce, and I sent you facts stating that wasn’t true.

I’m glad that your animals are safe, first off.

How it happened? Maybe it was found near your property, maybe someone thought it was your dog when it was called in or turned in?

But yes, it could affect your ability to adopt from shelters connected to this shelter.

What I would do is bring veterinary and registration records for the dogs you DO own, and maybe a letter from your vet, to that shelter to prove that the dog in question is not yours. It’s not logical that anyone would consistently pay for care and registration of 2 of their 3 dogs and neglect the third, you know?

Whats your favorite Jesus joke? Here is mine.?

Question by theagitator@sbcglobal.net: Whats your favorite Jesus joke? Here is mine.?
A fundamentalist christian, a jew and a hindu were travelling in a car. The car breaks down and all 3 are stuck. So they decide to walk to the nearest house and ask if they can spend the night.

They knock on the door of a farmhouse and tell the farmer their story. The farmer tells them that 2 of them can sleep in the house but one will have to sleep in the barn.
The Hindu volunteers to sleep in the barn.
10 minutes later there’s a knock at the door. It’s the Hindu “Oh, my goodness gracious. There is a cow in the barn and it is against my beliefs to share a room with such a sacred animal”.
So the Jew volunteers to sleep in the barn.

10 minutes later there’s a knock at the door. It’s the Jew “Oh, my goodness gracious. There is a Pig in the barn, and with the whole kosher thing, there is no way that I’m sleeping in there”

So the fundamentalist christian volunteers to sleep in the barn.
10 minutes later theres a knock at the door… its the pig and the cow

Can you come up with the punch line?

Question by WillyC: Can you come up with the punch line?
A Hindu, a rabbi & a lawyer are travelling together. They stop at a farmhouse & ask to spend the night.
The farmer says he only has room for two & one will have to sleep in the barn.
The Hindu says, “OK, I’ll go to the barn”. A few minutes later, he comes back & says, “There’s a cow in the barn. Cows are sacred & I can’t sleep with a sacred animal.”
So, the rabbi agrees to sleep in the barn. He returns in a few minutes, explaining, “There’s a pig in the barn. Pigs are unclean & my beliefs won’t allow me to sleep with an unclean animal.”
Finally, the lawyer agrees to go to the barn. A few minutes later, there’s a knock at the door and…

Q&A: Shapeshifting, astral travel and extra-sensory perception… Know any methods?

by K. Todd Storch

Question by Eclipse: Shapeshifting, astral travel and extra-sensory perception… Know any methods?
Do you believe in shapeshifting, that is, the ability to assume the form or characteristics of an animal, either in real-life, in dreams, or in astral-travel form?
If so, do you know any methods to achieve that state and learning that skill?

I do meditation every now and then, and I’ve managed to astral travel once, but I’ve got too freaked out and woke up as soon as I managed to start travelling.
My dream, however, is to be able to experience a shapeshifting experience, merging with my “totem animal”. The internet is full of testimonies of people that claim they do this regularly… but is it really possible? How to do it?
Of course…I’m talking about a spiritual meditation practice here!
I’m not going to actually shapeshift into an animal…

I’m just wondering if anybody had any dream/extra-sensorial experience related to shapeshifting.

Why do some creationists make it hard on themselves?

by K. Todd Storch

Question by Deicidal: Why do some creationists make it hard on themselves?
Instead of just saying God did it they come up with ridiculous natural explanations to answer for the Bible.

Things like:

-An ice or water canopy to explain the Great Flood.
-Since all species of animals and their food couldn’t fit in the Ark, they say “generic animals” went into the Ark and super-evolved into all the different species in a few generations after the Flood.
-They say the super continent Pangaea existed 4500 years ago even when continental drift travels about the same speed as your fingernails grow. (It would have to around 90000 times faster than it is now =P)

And this is only for the Great Flood!!

Why do they make it hard on themselves?
See, Lion of Judah makes it hard on himself. Unsubstantiated conjecture doesn’t impress me and shouldn’t impress anyone else with a brain.

Q&A: please help me !! tell me your opinion about my essay?

Question by Brooke: please help me !! tell me your opinion about my essay?
tell me your opinion about my essay ?

I have an essay for homework, however, I am not good at writing ,who can help me to edit it ?
Thank you very much !

Journal Assignment 1

(Keep a writing with you as you travel around during the day. When you find yourself in a different place, stop and observe your surroundings. Record what you hear, see, feel, etc., in five different locations in five separate entries that are at least half a page in length. Be sure to record the date, time, and place along with your observations. )

A tree frog. his face, his texture, evidencing his commitment to make a living. and the rabbits and promptitude, alacrity, caution but not fear or from the fear.and the nature.
And the sky with composure and hasty. I had always thought that frog’s greatest inconsistency was his eyes ; the left and right black and his eyelid is amber, they hinted at a difference beyond control. windows onto the soul, they nevertheless veiled a fundamental contradiction : they are alive for proliferate, the ultimate purpose in their life. Its purpose is not to reason, infer, be creative or criticize, but to only survive in the wild life and keep the species existing. It is said that humans have somehow evolved from animals. That at one time we all came from single celled organisms. One has to question that because at one point there had to be a drastic change on how we live in society. The life of human beings is more advanced and therefore more sacred than the life of animals. Human life is more advanced than animal life in spirit, mind, and free will. and sientiest said “Animals do not have a spirit. A lot people seem to think that there pets love them and care for them, but it’s simply that the pet sees you as a food source “. Humans are able to love, have faith and religion, and have a conscience just to name a few. Human beings have a spiritual and religious nature. The vast majority of people on Earth pursue some form of spiritual or religious truth. Most human beings have deep religious beliefs and engage in some type of religious ritual. The pursuit of God is a characteristic of mankind and is evidenced in such common practices as prayer and worship. Even nonbelievers (atheists, skeptics) pursue questions concerning life’s ultimate meaning and purpose and are drawn to whatever they consider to be of ultimate importance and value.
One thing that animals and human beings do have in common is that they both have a mind. The animals mind is only capable of having an instinct. The instinct includes that an animal’s only purpose is to survive and reproduce. Its purpose is not to reason, infer, be creative or criticize, but to only survive in the wild life and keep the species existing. Yes, human’s beings have instinct which includes survival and reproduction, but we have more also. We are able to infer, reason, be creative and intellectual, doubt and criticize. And the Biggest fear is fear itself. and struggles between good and evil in the human soul are strongly portrayed. i believe that is only existence in human’s life.
I think Many people associate it with science-fiction novels, not with real life,
But frogs living for survival and struggle for existence.
And human beings are like that.
even though scientist says “Animals have the same senses as human beings”, or “Human Beings Different From Other Animals”. I say ‘ Human Beings Are Animals in specific form and Special Purpose in Life.
may be i can see myself in frog’s eyes
And l see frog’s reflection inside my eyes
yes, indeed i’m one of them
ohh and im a freshman at high school !

A tree frog. his face, his texture, evidencing his commitment to make a living. and the rabbits and promptitude, alacrity, caution but not fear or from the fear.and the nature. THIS DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE.

THIS DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSEI had always thought that frog’s greatest inconsistency was his eyes ; the left and right black and his eyelid is amber, they hinted at a difference beyond control. windows onto the soul, they nevertheless veiled a fundamental contradiction : they are alive for proliferate, the ultimate purpose in their….THIS DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE.

You have not done what the teacher has asked you to do. You need to look at the essay requirements and start again.
Observe the frog, say what you hear and see and how it makes you feel….keep it simple, find four other things to comment upon in the same way.

ps – As I am from the UK I don’t know what age a freshman at high school is.
pps – Are you sure you haven’t simply copied and pasted your answer from another web page?
