What can he do now without a green card? What are his options?

Question by mommi: What can he do now without a green card? What are his options?
My boyfriend has been living here for 5 years and he came from Trinidad with his mom. He claims he recieved a notice saying that he was clear and his green card would come “soon.”? The year is almost over and nothing has happened yet. He tunred 18 in march and was recently kicked out of High School. He only had 1 year left. His mom, which is overprotective, keeps all his info (passport, EVERYTHING) locked up and is only home about 1 week in a month because of her job. I want to know, what are his options? Can he work? Can he finish school? Can he go to college? Right now all he does is just sit around the house. Is there really no choice?

Is it possible to make a letter of invitation for a visa without showing prove of income?

Question by Tasha: Is it possible to make a letter of invitation for a visa without showing prove of income?
My friend from Holland (I am from Russia ) wants to invite me to her country. She does have the letter of invitation already only now her dad needs to go to the city hall with his passport and some prove that he has enough money.
Is this prove really necessary for the invitation? cause she says that because her dad is 65 years old, he doesn’t have a “real” income?

Yes it is a requirement as there needs to be proof that he can “cover”any financial loses that may incur during your time in the Netherlands.

So he will need to show a work contract, or a savings account etc etc, fill in the form at the town hall, and then they will generate the statement which can be sent to you, to take to the embassy.

Likelihood is that the embassy will also ask for copies of these documents themselves as well

My parent’s-in-law are Bosnian and we have to do the same every time they come to visit us in the Netherlands. The town hall rarely causes problems – it is more likely to be the requirements of the embassy that will be problematic

Q&A: How did obama get elected to the highest office in our country without?

Question by Bobbie Sue: How did obama get elected to the highest office in our country without?
How did obama get elected to the highest office in our country without producing his birth certificate?
When a child enters school, their birth certificate must be produced. When anyone applies for a passport, their birth certificate must be produced. When a teenager applies for their driver’s license, a birth certificate must be produced. When a senior citizen applies for social security benefits, a birth certificate must be produced. This is just some examples of when a birth certificate is required.
Again I ask, “How did obama get elected to the highest office in our country without producing his birth certificate?”
To tonalc2: I don’t know where you are from or how old you are, but in my state you have to show your birth certificate to get a driver’s license and you have to show your birth certificate to get a social security card and social security benefits.
To Biscuit, coming in hot!- Don’t soil your britches but, a certificate of live birth is not the same as a birth certificate. Nice try though.
To JeremyH- He hasn’t produced a birth certificate. There is a big difference in a birth certificate and a certificate of live birth. Get real.

Question by rs6881: I was told that 10 yrs. after a felony conviction you are allowed to get a passport without a pardon. Can I?
I love hunting and can’t, I want to see Ireland and can’t, I want a passport but don’t know how to get one currently. I was charged in 1993 of “Conspiracy to sell a Ga. controlled substance by providing transportation for the purchase of marijuana. I never saw any money or drugs, and didn’t know about any such activity until I had a drug agent pull his badge and weapon and arrest me. My probation ended Jan.24,1997. Do I HAVE to have a pardon to live NORMAL again or can I legaly own a fire arm again without it? I miss hunting and can’t go to Ireland without a passport, which I was told I can’t get with a felony on my record.

Is it possible to fly without a passport? I have a true emergency and my country’s Embassy is not helping me!!

Question by CanadianGirlAbroad: Is it possible to fly without a passport? I have a true emergency and my country’s Embassy is not helping me!!
My current passport has expired and I am waiting on a new one. They have been taking their sweet time. I have a confirmed, booked flight in 2 days! I need to see an extremely ill family member. I have government-issued, picture ID from another country. Can this count for anything? I have an expired passport and I have a birth certificate. I really need your help with this. Are there any lawyers or government officials with a heart out there who know aviation law with regard to international rules?? Or consular boundaries or ??? The Embassy botched up some things with regard to this and admitted so – to me. Whether they would “officially” admit this is another story. I am in another country and want to fly home. I cannot tell you how important this is! Words could never express it enough. Please help me! The Consular at the Embassy in this country is doing nothing to help me. He walked away from me in the middle of a conversation! He yelled at me in front of everyone! He’s UNPROFESSIONAL

having travelled quite a bit during my life, i was always told if one needed help, and your own consulate or embassy would not/could not help, make a beeline to the nearest british embassy/consulate for assistance
