Do you REALLY believe that Americans are more racist than MOST other countries in the world?………………

Question by boogiedown BUBU: Do you REALLY believe that Americans are more racist than MOST other countries in the world?………………
.

I constantly hear that we are more racist from all the non-Americans on here and I don’t know how the whole world is LESS racist than us when you got countries like Japan with their holocaust on the Chinese (WW2), or how the Jews got bounced out of every country in Europe at least once every 21 years for a period of ~1,500 years (culminating with the holocaust), the Europeans with the crusades and witch hunts AND trans-Atlantic African slave trade, Darfur (by Arabs), Saudi Arabia won’t allow Jews to even enter their country, Turks genociding the Armenians, Serbs killing all the Kosovo ppl, that jzzbag in Cambodia killing off “intellectuals”, Rawanda killing off the Tutsis, Australia killing off the Abos, etc etc etc

Most of that stuff happened in the last 120 years, so did all those other countries go from being THAT racist that they would commit genocide to being less racist than America in 1 or 2 generations?

/curious

I think so. Because America is the only country that practiced mass slavery in recent times in human history.

Forget about it; the passports issued by this “organization” are qualified as “fantasy passports” without any value in wealthy countries.

Whats the Big Deal about whether or not to label the World War I-era killings of Armenians as genocide?

Question by Vodwine: Whats the Big Deal about whether or not to label the World War I-era killings of Armenians as genocide?
I have been hearing more and more about this issue about whether or not to pass a resolution of the killing of up to 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turks genocide or not…. What is the big deal if its ” Labeled Genocide” or not? What benefit or harm will come from the resolution?
The problem that I have with it, is that its the PAST, HISTORY. What will it accomplish by labeling it Genocide or not? Is it going to give the armenians legal recourse for compensation or if they don’t will it be letting people out of Prisons?
Every evolution of a country has made errors in their history and going back will not change what our ancestors have done. Its was war and people over time and will continue to fight for survival and thier independence and space for land. Its the war over Ideals and beliefs is whats not right.
With the Technology we have today, we don’t need to be fighting over resources. Every country if they wanted to and put thier mind to it, could use thier natural resources sun, water, wind, etc. to become self-reliant.

Its just that people/countries are greedy for power and dominance and dont want to put the time & effort into creating new ways while their is already a proven, but limited resource energy supply.
Present day societies shouldn’t have to carry the burden and be penalized for what has happened in the past history of their county… Sure it shouldn’t be forgotten, and learn from it, but lets not dwell on it and rehash what can’t be changed.

Well some people don’t like the Turks while others see them as a good nato buddy which they certainly are not because
for one they did not let American troops invade thru their country and now they want to invade Iraq themselves.

They would be better off just nuking them and then when the smoke has cleared we will still have the nice beaches there.

is the world run by fanatics? furthermore, is our biased support of Israel brainwashing?

by jurvetson

Question by ionoclass V: is the world run by fanatics? furthermore, is our biased support of Israel brainwashing?
bush: “I have total faith in my decision with Iraq…Iraq is part of the axis of evil”

president of iran: “I have total faith that justice will triumph by wiping Israel off the map”

jewish character ” we finnally have a place on this earth…the place set to us forth by God and moses as the chosen people of God”

are all of these people nutcases or what?

Is it not obvious that our support in Israel is biased an hurting american interests? Yes, muslims hate Israel and us…and they are the only democracy..but Israel has also done many human rights violations..treated muslims as “inferiors”….muslims hate us BECAUSE of our biased support of Israel even though its just as unfair as terrorists… if we were more unbiased and even handed…reprimanding both…there would be no hatred against us… are we not doing things due to fanatical crap, or media brainwashing, instead of logic..

is this not scary to you? as the world comes into the hands of a bunch of nutjobs?
furthermore….they killed 6 children and 8 women in gaza today…

hamas threatens USA for support of Israel yet not saying anything about such human right violations…here is the news article:

http://news.scotsman.com/international.cfm?id=1656962006

“We view the American administration as responsible for this crime alongside the Zionist entity.”

so how is it in our interests to support Israel again?

and how is the world NOT run by a bunch of nutcases?
when I asked whether it was in our interests to support Israel…

I asked if its in our interests to support Israel in the biased manner we do now?

furthermore…

should we have some leash on fundamentalism…its getting out of hand?
the village…

ahaha, your hilarious…maybe you should go sneak a peak at bearded lady to tell her your joke (it was funny).

Well I have always wondered about those that run for the Presidency, especially now with The Wars, they have to be a bit crazy to want the job. As for the Israel shelling of the Palestians, It’s the same old story with them, secretly I believe when things get quiet the Israelis get together and decide to beat up on those Palestians. If its not invade its send rockets. USA could lean on Israel and get them to release Lebonese prisoners, and put up the guns till they are invaded. Yes I think the USA could do more to foster peace.

Why can’t the world see that it is not the Americans causing destruction in Iraq but the facist religious nuts

Question by Umokay: Why can’t the world see that it is not the Americans causing destruction in Iraq but the facist religious nuts
The world should finally deal with reality. The main problem in Iraq are the Islamo-fascist leaders of each little denominational enclave that are all so power hungry that they cannot stop killing each other. And believe me, if America would have never entered Iraq, it would have been done on a much larger scale with a much higher death toll. The Saudis, the Turks, even the Iranians would be in there right now “dividing it up” themselves. Make no mistakes, America in Iraq is a good, and moral thing that is actually saving more lives than most of your small minds could imagine.
I certainly do not deny that we could have done a much more effective job, and I am heartbroken over some of the mistakes made, but my point is still true. And for the record, we didn’t stir up anything and suggesting that Saddam is someone who “kept the peace” is a joke. He used his army to police and invade and destroy his own countrymen and neighboring countries for years. He was no man of any kind of “peace”
I have one answer for you Babaloo- I am a moral person who believes that moral things should at least be attempted rather than doing nothing. If Saddam or his sons (God forbid his wretched demonic sons) would have continued or gained power in the region, like I said, the Saudis, Iranians, Turks, even the Syrians would be there NOW, and the death toll for the whole world would be MUCH MUCH higher. I think as the world’s sole superpower, it was our moral obligation to act.
And my position is not “doublethink”. Where are my opinions contradictory? My points simply follow:

1) Eventually, Saddam’s “Iron Fist” (ridiculous comparison to Tito which is in no way valid) would eventually lead to his murderous, raping, pillaging sons being in power. If not now, within 10 years or so.

2) The Saudis, Turks, Iranians would never stand for that.

3) If those guys invaded you would have had thousands and thousands of more innocent deaths than are occurring now because none of those countries would have done anything to limit casualties

4) Knowing this, and certainly because of the WHOLE WORLD’s (not just the U.S) interest in stablizing the region, we HAD to act. There was no other moral alternative. No one else could have responded or would have responded with the painstaking lengths we have to limit destruction and lives lost there.

There is no “doublethink” there my friend.

We stirred them up when we overthrew Saddam. Saddam was not a good guy, but he did keep the peace.
